EmJ 1:3 (Win 92) p. 198 The word “likewise” (ὡσαύτως, hōsautōs) in verse 11 signals that Paul is introducing a new class of people: γυναῖκας—women/wives. This new group is distinct from, yet compared with, the male deacons mentioned previously. Some commentators think that “likewise” necessitates another church office similar to the ones preceding.
